Lubomir Tomaszewski (1923-2018) for Cmielow figurine designed in Poland in 1957. Figure in the abstract depiction of a camel in peachy pink gradient, with manufacturer's mark on the underside. Cmielow is the oldest still operating Polish porcelain factory. The history starts in 1790, when a few local potters joined their forces and created a workshop. Lubomir Tomaszewski was born in 1923, alumnus of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Student of the Warsaw University of Technology, he was an extraordinary artist, searching for his own artistic way. Ambitious, he aimed at creating art nobody else has ever created. He was a representative of experimental realism, a versatile sculptor and painter in love with music, nature and women beauty. This stunning figurine is in very good vintage condition. Some age-related traces of rubbing and a few slight chips which are photographed separately. No cracks or crazing at all....more
