This 1950s chest of drawers reminded us of the steamer luggage you'd see in the 1920s and 1930s. The details and shape of the piece has more than a look of the luxury steamer trunks of that era. The edges of the drawers are curved, reminiscent of the Streamline Moderne style. We created this rich teal colour and added a matt varnish. The trim detail has been painted black and the leather drawer pulls added complement the look. There are some dinks and areas of wear to the wood veneer, as you would expect from a chest of drawers that is over 60 years old. The sides and insides of the drawers have been cleaned and kept natural. Please note that you can see the texture and grain of the wood beneath the paint.
