Thonet Bentwood Arm Chair, Early 20th Century (modified). Thonet armchair with alligator pattern seat and seat back. Retaining partial paper label and impressed "Thonet" mark. Ink marked "Made in Poland". Beautiful patina on the original finish. The legs have been cut down possibly because they have previously worn down or rotted - reducing the chair seat height by about 6 cm from 44 cm seat height to 38 cm seat height.
